Las Vegas libraries launch summer challenge inviting all ages to ‘Discover the World’

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District is inviting residents to “Discover the World” this summer through its annual Summer Challenge program, running from May 15 to July 31.

The program offers a variety of reading and activity opportunities for kids, teens, and adults, with prizes from local partners such as the Vegas Golden Knights, Las Vegas Raiders, and The Smith Center.

Kelvin Watson, Executive Director of the Library District, emphasized the importance of keeping children engaged during the summer months to prevent the “summer slide,” where children and teens can lose important academic skills. “As summer approaches, parents and caregivers are looking for fun, meaningful ways to keep kids engaged and learning,” Watson said. “That’s why Summer Challenge is our biggest event of the year, to motivate kids with great prizes and show them that learning can be fun.”…
