Man charged with DUI, vehicle homicide after 7-year-old dies in Kane County crash

A Nevada man is facing multiple charges after he reportedly crashed an all-terrain vehicle in Kane County over the weekend, resulting in the death of a child.

The driver, 32-year-old Armando Garcia-Becerra of Las Vegas, has been charged with second-degree felony automobile homicide, along with five misdemeanor charges that include three counts of DUI with a passenger under 16 years of age, one count of reckless driving and one count of negligently operating a motor vehicle resulting in serious bodily injury.

The crash was reported Saturday night and involved a 7-year-old child who was taken, unconscious, to the Mammoth Creek Fire Station in Kane County by the child’s parents, according to charging documents filed at 6th District Court in Kanab.
