Las Vegas Pedestrian Fatality Highlights Urban Safety Concerns After South Decatur Boulevard Incident

A man died after being struck by a vehicle earlier this month on South Decatur Boulevard, just south of West Harmon Avenue in Las Vegas. The pedestrian was hit by a Toyota Rav4 while crossing outside a designated crosswalk. Authorities are investigating the incident.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that a 29-year-old male pedestrian died a week after being struck by a vehicle. The collision occurred earlier this month, and the pedestrian passed away at UMC Hospital. The driver, 76-year-old Kimlan Jones, remained at the scene and was found not to be under the influence of any impairing substances. The pedestrian’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
