LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The man accused of killing his mother and critically injuring his sister made his first appearance in court Wednesday morning after refusing to appear for a court date earlier in the week.
Jacob Lister, 29, is facing charges of murder and attempted murder for the shootings that occurred in the family’s home on the evening of Sunday, July 27.
At times, it appeared as if Lister was praying in court. When the judge asked if he acknowledged the charges, he said he did. He also said he could not afford an attorney to represent him in court and was appointed a public defender.
Lister was arrested shortly after the shooting near the family’s southwest valley home near Buffalo Drive and Blue Diamond Road. He was in a truck with a former co-worker whom he called for help. That person was not involved in the shooting…
