LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The school year is just around the corner, and kids across the Las Vegas valley are getting ready and loading up their backpacks.
Saturday morning, military families and their kids had the opportunity to pick a backpack and load it up for free at Operation Homefront’s Back-to-School Brigade.
“Each family here has registered military children,” Amanda Castilliano, senior regional operations manager for Operation Homefront, said. “They’re receiving a brand-new backpack, supply kit, a gift card to buy additional supplies and then we have over 30 community partners here for them today.”
Kids like Jax Leichty, who picked out a superhero-themed backpack, are excited for what’s on the horizon…
