3 Lake Mohave sites near Las Vegas under ‘danger’ advisories for toxic blooms

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The highest advisory — “HAB DANGER” — has been issued for three areas of Lake Mohave, indicating that the areas are “extremely unsafe for human and animal exposure” because of toxic algae blooms.

A Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) can produce toxins that can kill pets, particularly dogs that go into the water and disturb cyanobacteria or drink the water. People should avoid contact with HABs and avoid swimming near them.
