Las Vegas-area middle school opens inside Boulevard Mall welcoming hundreds of students

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A new middle school in Las Vegas has officially opened inside Boulevard Mall, marking a unique approach to education by integrating real-world learning within a commercial space.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrated the opening of Western Youth Leadership, Engagement, and Empowerment School (WYLEES), a tuition-free public charter school, founded by Mike Taack.

“It doesn’t bother me the idea being in the mall,” said Graciela Rodriguez, a parent who attended the event. “My daughter tells me all the time, ‘Mommy, it doesn’t feel like a school.’”…
