Warehouse workers at Smith’s vote to authorize strike in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Dozens of warehouse workers at Smith’s Food and Drug grocery stores around Las Vegas have voted to authorize a strike, the Teamsters Union announced Monday.

The vote from the more than 140 workers comes after what union leaders call months of unfair labor practices and a “refusal to bargain seriously.”

Over 120 warehouse workers voted to join Teamsters Local 14 earlier this year. The union alleges Smith’s parent company, Kroger, has refused to negotiate with them since then and wrongfully terminated workers…
