Authorities say they have arrested a juvenile in connection with a “sophisticated” cyberattack that targeted several Las Vegas casinos back in 2023.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on Friday announced the arrest of a teenage boy, who was not named, on charges in connection with “sophisticated network intrusions” into multiple Las Vegas casino properties between August 2023 and October 2023.
According to police, the hacks were attributed to an organized cyber threat-actor group known by “several” names, including “Scattered Spider”, “Octo Tempest”, “UNC3944”, and/or “0ktapus.” The investigation was led by the FBI’s Las Vegas Cyber Task Force, which includes the LVMPD Cyber Investigative Group…
