LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas City Council members voted on Wednesday to close a downtown Las Vegas motel.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department presented to council members on numerous crime investigations at the US Motel, located at 2500 E. Fremont Street near E. Charleston Boulevard.
US Motel’s business license was suspended after repeated criminal activity at the property. According to records, officers have responded to the 21 calls at the motel involving sex trafficking of children, drug sales, and a shooting.
City of Las Vegas to determine future of crime-ridden motel
The motel owner was given a one-year cooling-off period before engaging in any business. Whoever acquires the property will have to follow a dozen rules the city has laid out about length of stays, taxes, security, and more.
