New Nonprofit Muscle Joins Las Vegas Move-In Voucher Fight

United Way of Southern Nevada is beefing up its Deseret Industries Move-In Voucher Program, bringing two more nonprofits into the fight to keep people from slipping back into homelessness. East Valley Family Services and Lighthouse Charities are the newest partners helping distribute vouchers and volunteer-built “move-in kits” to Clark County families settling into fresh housing.

According to United Way of Southern Nevada, the program is funded by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and administered by UWSN, pairing vouchers for home goods with kits of essentials to clear early hurdles to setting up a household. The move-in kits, which contain toiletries, cleaning supplies and basic kitchen and dining items, are assembled by volunteers and stored with Clark County Social Services. They are then delivered alongside case management support so families are not left to navigate those first days on their own…
