LAS VEGAS (KLAS) β Las Vegas residents cutting across Boulder Highway illegally will soon face a new obstacle as county officials vote on a mile-long expansion to a valuable fence.
During a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department First Tuesday event at the Whitney Recreation Center, Southwest Area Command Captain Jeff Clark discussed a series of new strategies to curb road fatalities, including a 1,500-foot fence along Boulder Highway.
βThe test that we did with the fencing at Boulder and Flamingo it proved to be positive,β Clark said.
The concept is already going to be reviewed with permitting, according to Clark, and an expansion is expected to run around two miles, reaching South Lamb Boulevard. The expected expansion, along with the addition of lights, does not have an exact price tag…
