Hanukkah celebrations continued as planned Monday night inside the Clark County Government Center, with community leaders and attendees emphasizing unity, education, and resilience amid growing global concerns about antisemitism.
Rabbi Levi Harlig of Chabad of Southern Nevada said some questioned whether it was appropriate to continue public celebrations during a somber time, but he said the community’s response remains rooted in faith and joy.
“People ask if you want to tone things down,” Harlig said. “It’s a somber moment, and although our hearts are aching, the way we respond is through added joy and added dancing.”…
