Man accused in deadly Las Vegas stabbing of passerby has criminal history

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The man accused of committing a deadly random stabbing was identified Friday as 46-year-old Kenwon Montgomery, an ex-convict, who is now facing murder and assault charges, according to jail records.

The stabbing happened on Thursday in the 800 block of Weaver Drive near Owens Avenue and H Street around 4:45 p.m. Police responded to the scene after numerous calls of a man armed with a knife chasing people.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan police, Montgomery, who was “acting erratically,” visited his mother’s home and began swinging a knife toward her before chasing his brother down the street with the knife.
