Video released in Las Vegas police shooting of unarmed man

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas Metropolitan police released more details and video of an incident involving a police officer shooting a person believed to be armed, but who wasn’t.

The shooting occurred on Friday, Dec. 19, after a traffic stop on Valley View Boulevard near Twain Avenue, just west of the Las Vegas Strip. Wunya Lynum, 25, a passenger in the car, ran from police after it was discovered he had given incorrect identification information.

Lynum fled from the scene, hid near a parked car, and continued to ignore officers’ commands, Metro Assistant Sheriff Fred Haas said during a news conference on the shooting…
