LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Firefighters traded their usual emergency calls for holiday deliveries Monday as the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation held its annual toy blitz.
The foundation distributed hundreds of toys to children who may not receive them otherwise. Captain Vernon Reinhart, one of the longtime leaders of the organization, said the event brings him joy after long volunteer hours throughout the year.
“I’m always excited to see the kids that are truly excited, just really happy. Excited that the Christmas spirits are there,” Reinhart said.
Foundation grows from 800 to 32,000 children served
