LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Roughly 13,000 British nationals live in Nevada, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Some celebrate Boxing Day with neighbors and family — but what is it?
The British holiday is traditionally observed the day after Christmas and is typically observed in Great Britain and other related nations. Some observe the holiday, which dates back to the 1800s, with sports, gift giving, and shopping.

“Most of the British live in the west and north, like Summerlin area,” Amar Gupta, owner of the India British Market, said. “I get a lot of customers driving from all the way to here.”
Gupta said his store was filled with British customers shopping in his store, near Bermuda Road and E. Windmill Lane, buying items like spotted dick, Christmas crackers, and sticky toffee pudding.
“I didn’t have any idea about all those goodies,” he said. “[The British] say keep this, bring this, and I used to keep it, and write it down.”…
