Clark County Commission ponders funding for mental health intervention team

A federally-funded pilot program conducted by Clark County found a crisis intervention team is effective in keeping people with substance abuse and mental health issues out of local emergency rooms and is likely a cost savings for University Medical Center, the county’s public hospital, Clark County Commissioners learned Tuesday.
