LAS VEGAS (KLAS)— A hiker who injured an ankle while out with a group at Red Rock’s Calico Basin was rescued and taken to safety by helicopter on Tuesday.
The hiker was treated for the injury after slipping and falling near Kraft Mountain, according to information from Las Vegas Metro Search and Rescue. The rescue happened around 6 p.m., and video showed Metro’s AIR3 helicopter arriving to assist after Las Vegas and Clark County first responders reached the scene.
The injured hiker was loaded into AIR3 and taken to the BLM helipad before being put in an ambulance. The four other hikers in the group were brought out by fire department first responders…
