Road Rage Gunfire Sparks Deadly Las Vegas Rollover; Suspect Tracked to Oregon, Charged With Murder

Nick Stevenson, 53, was arrested in Oregon on Nov. 5 and extradited to Clark County to face murder and related charges after a road rage shooting that led to a fatal crash in the southwest valley, investigators say. The collision happened just after midnight on Oct. 17 near Lindell and Robindale roads. A 38-year-old woman was ejected from a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, while a man riding with her was taken to a hospital for treatment. Detectives say someone in a following car opened fire on the victims before the driver lost control, as reported by Las Vegas Review‑Journal.

In a police news release, detectives said they reconstructed the chaotic minutes before the crash using 911 calls and witness accounts. Callers reported one car chasing another and shots being fired, while bystanders later described people running through nearby yards after the impact. That trail of tips and statements led investigators to identify Stevenson as a suspect, according to Las Vegas Review‑Journal.

Investigation and coroner findings

The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 38-year-old Daisha Ketchum and listed her cause of death as multiple blunt-force injuries. The manner of death was still classified as undetermined, according to KSNV. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officials told investigators they consulted with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Fatality Analysis Reporting System and concluded Ketchum’s death qualifies as a traffic fatality.

Even with that technical classification, both Homicide and Collision Investigation detectives are treating the case as a hybrid crime-and-crash scene and are continuing to review physical evidence and re-interview witnesses.

Charges and court schedule

Booking logs show Stevenson faces an array of charges, including open murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a deadly weapon and several property-related counts. He is being held at the Clark County Detention Center without bail, court records indicate, per KTNV. Those same records list a preliminary hearing set for Feb. 12, 2026.

How to help the investigation

Las Vegas police have urged anyone who saw the chase or shooting, or who recognizes the people who ran from the crash scene, to come forward. Tipsters can contact the LVMPD Homicide Section at 702-828-3521 or [email protected], or reach Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555, according to the department’s contact page.
