LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A Las Vegas Valley nonprofit’s bookmobile is back in service after the FOX5 Surprise Squad and United Nissan stepped in to repair the vehicle that had been out of commission for months.
Chrishawanda Matthews, who runs a literacy outreach program, started her day on the west side of Las Vegas, handing out books to families and children in neighborhoods where access to reading materials can be limited.
“It feels amazing to be out in the community and most importantly to be on assignment doing the work,” Matthews said.
