LAS VEGAS (TCN) — A man accused of killing a maintenance worker and injuring a deputy constable during an eviction has been charged with murder, attempted murder, battery, and resisting a public officer.
Sgt. Deputy Constable Mark Ruesch, 63, went to an apartment complex to serve an eviction notice on 46-year-old Victor Vondrasek on Jan. 6, KLAS reports. He asked the building’s on-site maintenance worker, 39-year-old Orlando Sosa, to assist him in accessing the unit.
Sosa was unable to gain access to the apartment’s front door, so he reportedly climbed a ladder to the second-story balcony, according to KLAS. As soon as Sosa stepped onto the balcony, Vondrasek allegedly broke through the sliding glass door and attacked him with an 18-inch machete, causing a severe laceration to his neck…
