Insurer challenges coverage for largest Las Vegas fire in 25 years

Gemini Insurance Company is asking a federal court to declare it has no obligation to cover claims from the largest structure fire in Las Vegas in 25 years.

The insurer filed its action on January 7, 2026, in the United States District Court for the District of Nevada, naming four defendants tied to the Fremont Street Lofts development. At the heart of the dispute is a fire that broke out on June 19, 2022, and whether a policy that expired more than a decade earlier still applies.
