Man arrested after altercation with police at Las Vegas casino

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The man arrested after allegedly assaulting a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer during a disturbance at Planet Hollywood Casino has been identified, according to the arrest report.

Court documents identified Jose Aviles, 33, who was reportedly taken into custody around 1:15 a.m. Jan. 18 on Las Vegas Boulevard at East Paris Avenue following the incident.

Officers at the scene discovered a large, hostile crowd engaged in disruptive behavior, including throwing bottles, yelling and pushing, the arrest report detailed. While officers attempted to detain individuals, Aviles became involved in a physical altercation with one officer.
