Las Vegas – A district judge imposed a prison sentence on a driver whose impaired actions led to the death of a beloved local performer last summer.

On July 3, Carlos Lee, then 41, drove a GMC Yukon through the intersection of Mountain Vista and Rawhide streets. He struck a vehicle operated by 78-year-old Marcia “Marci” Weiss as she executed a left turn. Lee fled the scene immediately after the impact but returned shortly thereafter, displaying clear signs of impairment according to investigators.[1]

Weiss sustained severe injuries in the wreck. She passed away about a month later on August 6. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department classified the incident as a DUI hit-and-run, launching a thorough probe that uncovered Lee’s role.[1]

A Life Devoted to Dance and Hospitality

Marci Weiss brought energy and talent to Las Vegas after relocating there in 1997. She built a career as a dancer and choreographer, performing in traveling shows.
