Las Vegas police drone team quickly locates missing 8‑Year‑Old

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — An 8‑year‑old boy who had been missing for more than an hour was safely reunited with his family thanks to the quick actions of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Drone as a First Responder (DFR) team.

According to LVMPD, officers responded after the child’s family called for help, reporting that their son had disappeared and had never run away before. Family members and patrol officers began searching the surrounding area immediately, but with no clear direction on where the boy might have gone.

The DFR team deployed a drone to assist in the search, providing an aerial view that allowed for rapid coverage of the neighborhood. During the operation, the drone pilot located the young boy and relayed real‑time information to officers on the ground. Guided by the drone’s live feed, patrol units quickly reached the child’s location.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts between the drone operator and responding officers, the child was safely found and returned to his parents without injury…
