LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The trial for one of three people who prosecutors say took part in a multi-state shooting spree, which involved the death of a 22-year-old man, could start seven years after his arrest.
Shawn McDonnell, 36, faces more than 50 felony charges, including committing an act of terrorism and murder, for the events on Thanksgiving 2020. Christopher McDonnell, 34, Shawn McDonnell’s brother, and Kayleigh Lewis, 31, Shawn McDonnell’s then-wife, also faced charges connected to the spree.
In 2024, Christopher McDonnell pleaded guilty but mentally ill to more than 20 felonies. A judge sentenced him to a minimum of 100 years in prison. Lewis’ case was ongoing as of Thursday. She divorced Shawn McDonnell while in jail…
