Las Vegas firefighter killed in Central Nevada crash

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas firefighter was killed in a crash in Central Nevada Wednesday, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue announced Thursday.

LVFR Engineer Kelly Brinkerhoff died on Feb. 25 in an off-duty crash. He had been with Las Vegas Fire & Rescue since 2002 and was most recently assigned to Fire Station 6 after several years on C Platoon at Fire Station 1.

“We ask the community to honor Engineer Brinkerhoff’s life and service, and to keep his family in your thoughts and prayers,” LVFR said in a social media post.

LVFR Chief Fernando Gray said Kelly served the department and community for decades in total alignment with the department’s core values. Kelly will be honored by the department shrouding their badges and also flags will be raised to half staff until he is laid to rest, Fernando said…
