What to know for the Mint 400 in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — While most of the attention for racing in Las Vegas has been around Formula 1 in recent years, that’s far from the only opportunity for motorsports enthusiasts to get their fill.

The area is also home to two NASCAR races, one in March and one in October, multiple NHRA drag races, and the famed Mint 400, which takes place about 40 miles south of the Las Vegas Strip in Primm, Nevada.

The Mint 400 is an off-road race that began in 1968 and ran until 1988 before a 20-year layoff. In 2008, racing returned and has been taking place ever since.

History of the Mint 400
