Las Vegas man accused of stabbing homeless man to death claims self-defense

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas man accused of stabbing a homeless man to death in a northwest valley parking lot claims it was self-defense, according to documents 8 News Now obtained.

On Saturday, Feb. 14, at around 5:45 p.m., officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a Quick Care parking lot on Buffalo Drive near Lake Mead Boulevard after a report of a “suspicious male on the ground,” according to an arrest report.

Arriving officers found a man, later identified as Daniel Ohayon, 29, on the ground covered in blood, unresponsive. The report said there was a “large amount of blood on and around his head.” Medical personnel responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.

An autopsy later showed Ohayon had “multiple sharp force injuries” on his head and shoulder. The report also said that Ohayon was homeless…
