Man accused of killing man while attempting to rob him of his gun at Las Vegas intersection

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man is accused of shooting and killing a man while attempting to rob him of his firearm at a Las Vegas intersection, according to an arrest report.

On March 1, just before 12:40 a.m., Metro police responded to multiple reports of a shooting in the area of Nellis and Lake Mead boulevards. Witnesses told dispatch that a man was down on the southeast corner of the intersection and another man left the scene on a bicycle.

When officers arrived, they found a man, identified as 27-year-old James Espinoza, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the sidewalk. Espinoza was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

While at the scene, multiple people hailed down officers, saying a man was yelling in pain at a nearby complex. Officers arrived at the complex and found a man, later identified as Robert Aguilar, 39, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, the report said.
