Cox files battery lawsuit against fellow Henderson council member

HENDERSON, Nev. (KLAS) — A Henderson city councilwoman – already embroiled in a criminal case brought about by another councilwoman – filed a lawsuit Wednesday, for battery, against yet another member of the council, the 8 News Now Investigators have learned.

Carrie Cox, of Henderson’s Ward 3, filed a civil suit Wednesday against Ward 1’s Jim Seebock, court records show.

Cox was indicted by a Clark County grand jury last year for surreptitiously recording a conversation involving Ward 2’s councilwoman Monica Larson, who testified against her.

Court documents obtained by the 8 News Now Investigators detail an incident, in which Cox alleges that Seebock, in a heated exchange prior to a March 5, 2024, council meeting, hit Cox in the arm three times. Seebock denied hitting Cox in a conversation with city officials, but said he “does not recall touching [Cox],” but that “if he did touch [Cox] it was on her shoulder or arm area,” the complaint said…
