LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — On the afternoon of Mar. 5, 2024, Henderson Councilmembers Carrie Cox and Jim Seebock walked into a back room at city hall to discuss an upcoming vote, what happened next caused an uproar.
Court documents obtained by the 8 News Now Investigators detail an incident in which Cox alleges that Seebock, in a heated exchange prior to a Mar. 5, 2024, council meeting, hit Cox in the arm three times. Seebock denied hitting Cox in a conversation with city officials, but said he “does not recall touching [Cox],” but that “if he did touch [Cox] it was on her shoulder or arm area,” the complaint said.
The City of Henderson released a human resources memo in which the incident was reviewed by HR director Javier Mendez. It was found that there were no additional witnesses to the incident and no video footage available.
In response to the lawsuit, Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero voiced support for Seebock in an online post and raised concerns about the alleged motivations Cox had to resurface the incident two years after it happened…
