North Las Vegas police to target speeders in new campaign

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The North Las Vegas Police Department announced Monday morning it would be targeting speeders in a new campaign.

The campaign, which is planned to take place until March 29, will be part of Nevada’s statewide Joining Forces initiative.

It will focus specifically on “identifying and addressing speeding violations in an effort to reduce crashes and improve roadway safety throughout the community,” according to a release from the North Las Vegas Police Department.

NLVPD said speeding is one of the leading causes of traffic crashes and serious injuries on the nation’s roadways. In 2023, speeding was a factor in 29 percent of all traffic fatalities in the United States, resulting in 11,775 deaths, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)…
