Can-Am crash that killed North Las Vegas man classified as traffic death after review

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The driver of a Can-Am that crashed near Apex on March 5 died of his injuries, and authorities have decided to classify the death as a traffic fatality.

A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department news release on Tuesday said 47-year-old Michael Montague of North Las Vegas was declared deceased at University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit despite lifesaving measures.

Montague’s passenger on the 2018 Can-Am Maverick X3 received only minor injuries in the single-vehicle crash and was released after he was treated at UMC. He was identified as Greg Long, 53, of Mesa, Arizona.
