A late-night walk turned deadly on the west side of Las Vegas when a pedestrian was hit and killed in a hit-and-run at North Rancho Drive and West Washington Avenue on Saturday. Emergency crews rushed in and tried life-saving measures at the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead. Police say the driver took off immediately after the crash, and officers later tracked down the vehicle they believe was involved.
What Police Say
According to FOX5, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the collision happened at about 10:38 p.m. on Saturday, March 28. Investigators told the station a white 2017 Hyundai Sonata was heading south on Rancho Drive when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing on the south side of the intersection. Police say the driver did not stay behind and instead left the scene. The crash is being handled by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section, which is still working the case.
