Las Vegas police arrest 17-year-old 2 weeks after homeless woman found dead on sidewalk

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas police arrested a 17-year-old for murder two weeks after a homeless woman was found dead on a sidewalk in the central valley.

Shortly after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department learned of an “unresponsive” woman lying on a sidewalk next to a business in the 3500 block of East Bonanza Road, near North Pecos Road.

Staff at a local business, Desert Pines Rehabilitation, said they knew the woman and told 8 News Now they were the ones who called the police. They said the victim was a homeless woman in her 60s who had frequented their business’s building for about a year.

They said when they arrived at work Tuesday morning, they saw her on the ground but assumed she was asleep, until they noticed a puddle of blood. That’s when they say they called police…
