Two from Georgia admit stealing Kenner police chief’s mail, also face charges in New Orleans

A man and woman from Georgia pleaded guilty in a Jefferson Parish court Friday to stealing letters from local mailboxes, including a check belonging to the Kenner chief of police, court records show.

Anthony Lowe, 64, pleaded guilty to three counts of mail theft while Christine Smith, 58, pleaded guilty to one count. Both are from Conyers, Georgia, court records show.

Judge Donald “Chick” Foret of the 24th Judicial District Court deferred five-year prison sentences for the pair and ordered that each serve three years of active probation, according to court records…
