Those are just some of the words the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office used to describe Lt. Darlene Darcel Duke, who died on June 30. A memorial service was held Tuesday at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home in Covington.
“Today, Sheriff (Eric) Levett and members of the RCSO did not simply say goodbye to a coworker or a lieutenant,” a Tuesday statement from the RCSO read. “We said goodbye to our mentor, our friend and our sister in service, who was a remarkable person. Lieutenant Duke’s life was one of service, strength, love and leadership. She poured into the people around her, encouraged others when they needed it most and left an impact that will continue to be felt in the halls and memories of this agency.”…
