ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — I-85 SB was shut down in Gwinnett County on Thursday after a tractor-trailer caught on fire.
The incident happened just north of Hamilton Mill Road at around 12:03 p.m., according to Georgia State Patrol. Troopers believe the fire might have been caused by a mechanical problem.
As the walls of the trailer burned, its cargo, mostly fruit, spilled onto the road. The Department of Agriculture has been notified, troopers said.
All southbound lanes were initially closed because of the accident, but have since reopened…
