24-year-old Atlanta police recruit killed in DeKalb County accident

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — An Atlanta Police Department recruit was hit by a vehicle and killed Tuesday morning in DeKalb County.

Moses Russ, who was in his 16th week of training, was pronounced dead at Grady Memorial Hospital. The incident at Moreland Avenue and McDonough Boulevard closed all lanes of traffic during the morning rush hour.

Atlanta News First crews at the scene saw a car with its front smashed in and a damaged motorcycle.
