Pacheco raises concerns about illegal dumping across Conyers

CONYERS — Discarded tires, furniture and piles of trash left along roads and on properties are drawing renewed attention in Conyers, with one City Council member urging residents to report illegal dumping rather than allowing the problem to become part of the landscape.

Council member Anthony Pacheco raised the issue during his closing comments at the Aug. 19 Conyers City Council meeting, saying dumped trash affects neighborhoods while creating environmental and financial consequences for the city.

“Discarded tires and trash hurt our neighborhoods, damages our environment and strains local resources,” Pacheco wrote afterward in a social media post about his comments. “Keeping our city clean takes all of us.”…
