ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A man from Jamaica, along with a man from the state of Georgia, have been sentenced to 25 years in prison after cocaine was found stashed inside a Bluetooth speaker.
32-year-old Jamaican national Matthew Hemmings, also known as Heartnel Powell, and 30-year-old Huntley Anthony Dixon of Loganville, Georgia, were convicted of trafficking cocaine.
On June 14, 2023, deputies with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop after noticing multiple traffic violations. Deputies said they noticed Hemmings and Dixon acting nervously, and noted conflicting statements about their travel.
