A shuttered Krystal in Conyers is becoming something new: Dave’s Hot Chicken .
The team behind the location comes from the original Dave’s Hot Chicken franchisees – Deryl Pangelinan , Tim Velleca , Andrew Feghali and Lawrence Kourie – who are bringing several locations of the restaurant to metro Atlanta in an agreement announced last August .
At the time, Pangelinan and Velleca told What Now Atlanta that Atlanta had been the most requested place in the U.S. to bring Dave’s Hot Chicken. It was made known at the time that they would be targeting nine locations in Georgia, with Conyers likely being the first.
Now, we know where that will be: 1447 Hwy 138 SE. The space used to be a Krystal restaurant that is now closed. According to construction plans, the restaurant is about 2,000 square feet, and drawings show plans for a drive-thru.
What Now Atlanta has reached out for more information about when the location is expected to open.
Dave’s Hot Chicken was founded in 2017 by Arman Oganesyan , Dave Kopushyan and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan .
