Officers said the arrest was made possible through the information shared by the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and U.S. Marshals New Orleans Office.

According to the NOPD, Jefferson escaped the Bridge City Center for Youth in March 2023.

The NOPD later reported that he pointed a gun at someone and threatened to shoot her on Dec. 8, 2023, in the 14500 block of Duane Road in New Orleans East. He’s allegedly threatened her with a gun on several other occasions.

After this information was released, Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams held a news conference , arguing that the OJJ should be more transparent when people escape.
