‘Going to kill her ex’: School shooter’s mom tied her own elderly mother to chair for not joining her to confront ex-husband, authorities say

Marcee Gray, 43, faces charges including false imprisonment and exploitation and intimidation of a disabled adult or elderly person. The incident in question happened almost a year before her son, Colt Gray, allegedly opened fired at Apalachee High School in Barrow County.

Documents obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution state that after one of Gray’s sisters, a Florida resident, could not get in touch with their mother in early November 2023, she had a friend check on the home. That friend found the victim, a 73-year-old woman, taped at the wrist and ankles to a chair. The friend freed her.

The grandmother, who had been tied there for almost 24 hours, told cops that Marcee Gray was upset after the grandmother refused to join her in confronting Colin Gray, her ex-husband, according to authorities.
