Paralyzed DeKalb County firefighter receives new van thanks to anonymous donor

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. A DeKalb County firefighter, paralyzed in a car wreck two years ago, is regaining his independence thanks to a generous gift from an anonymous donor.

David McBrayer, who has been unable to drive since his accident, now has a new mobility van equipped to allow him to drive independently.

The donation was made possible through the efforts of Mobility Works, the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation, and other supporters. The new van will enable McBrayer to carry out daily tasks like grocery shopping and potentially return to work in a teaching or advisory role within the fire department.
