COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A former Brookhaven Parks and Recreation director will serve two years in prison for attempting to meet someone he believed was a 14-year-old girl for sex following an undercover police operation last summer, officials said.
Patrick Nalley, 47, entered a guilty plea to charges of obscene internet contact with a minor and attempted aggravated child molestation. He was sentenced to 10 years, with two years to be served in prison, followed by eight years of probation, according to a release from the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office.
The case originated in Aug. 2023 when Nalley, while using his work vehicle during business hours, made contact online with an undercover Cobb County police officer posing as a teenage girl.
