An abandoned St. Bernard mix had friends and neighbors in Stone Mountain, Georgia very concerned and notably upset about his safety. Three weeks ago, a woman had been feeding the stray dog for weeks, trying her best to earn his trust. She thought calling Gwinnett County Animal Control to capture the dog would benefit the dog and assure his safety.
When animal control officers arrived however, the dog’s capture quickly went awry. Although the officers were able to secure him in a crate, the moment a catch pole had been placed around his neck, the pup named Rocky, panicked. He successfully wiggled out of the officer’s grip and ran away – catch pole still attached.
For weeks, volunteers, animal control officers and professional trappers had been working to find and rescue the dog. It was feared Rocky’s still attached pole would get snared on bushes or get caught in between rocks…
