Talladega, AL – A single-vehicle crash on Interstate 20 on Tuesday, April 29, has resulted in the death of a Homestead, Florida man and left a passenger injured. The incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. near Mahaffey Road, approximately seven miles west of Oxford’s city limits in Talladega County.
Jesus M. Pita, 54, was driving a 2023 Peterbilt tractor-trailer when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned. Pita was pronounced dead at the scene.
Leonard N. Hilliard, 29, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, a passenger in the vehicle, sustained injuries and was transported to Baptist Health Citizens Hospital for treatment…
